Because all the cool kids are doing it.

1) My Mum wanted to call me Magenta, as in Rocky Horror Picture Show. Because she loves the movie, and also, as an art teacher, she thought naming me a colour would be cute. She didn't end up doing so, as Mum realised people may call me "Madge". Also, my father thought the Magenta from RHPS was a "slut". However, whilst I was doing Drama at university, people called me Magenta anyway. For an unrelated reason that I forget (no, I'm not a redhead).

I was named Amelia, anyway. I often get asked if I ever get called Amy. I don't. Nicknames consist of Millie, Mealy, Amealy-eye, and Chamelia.

2) I have very small feet and hands. Like a carnie. And I bite my nails. I'm pretty orally fixated, as Freud would say.

3) I'm in Debretts [link] . Yes, a living member of the British aristocracy (hoho, so posh, quibly quibly!). I'm the very last name in the chapter about my family, because my grandmother and mother were the youngest children, and my younger brother is a boy. Obviously. This, however, has had no evident impact on how lady-like I am.

4) I hate females. That's a generalisation, but I have issues with them on a global scale. I find most of them extremely irritating, decietful, and a waste of my time. The few girls I am close to, though, I love to death and am extremely protective of.

5) People in my family always become either teachers, lawyers, psychologists or Anglican priests.

6) My great Aunt was nominated for the Booker Prize a few years back. I hated the book.

7) I roll cigarettes with Port Royal tobacco. I drink either Cougar & Dry, alcoholic ginger beer, or dry white wine. I hate red wine, and most beer. Dispite my Austalian-ness.

8) I'm a strong believer that the 90's was the best era for music. Besides the 70's. I still think The Smashing Pumpkins, Hole, L7 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are the best bands ever.

9) I still wear the same Doc Martens I bought when I was 16.

10) I think, as much as we all hate to admit it, rock and roll is dead.

11) I've smoked enough marijuana to last me a few lifetimes. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, unless you're using it to run away. Because then you won't stop. It's just too pretty.

12) I played bass guitar in garage bands through my last 3-4 years in high school. Band names include Skank, and Army Brats. I play a green glittery Ibanez bass. I still love it, even though I hardly devote as much time to it these days as I should.

13) I wear knee high socks almost constantly.

14) Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd, Never Tear Us Apart by INXS, Under The Bridge by the RHCP and Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin make me feel something special.

15) I have a small black tattoo of a triqueta at the nape of my neck.

16) My dream job would be to either work with Muppet puppets, or be a writer for the Simpsons. They just keep getting more and more funny, seriously. And obscure. I don't think I have the talent, I just think it'd be fan-friggin-tastic.

17) We've missed the second coming of Jesus, in the form of Bill Hicks.
He knew all the truths of the world, and he should have been around longer.

18) My left eye doesn't work.

19) I want to go to Tokyo. I love everything Japanese, I can't get enough of anime, I adore the Fruits look, and I love sushi. And videogames. I cried at the end of Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy X.

20) I drive a white Ford Focus hatchback, and I love it so much it scares me. It turns me into a revhead. I love learning anything and everything about my car and how everything works. I'd ideally love to take a short mechanics course, but who has the time these days?
